System Monster Party
Programming a game based on the text?

I have a great idea for a game based on the text that I worked long, the problem is, I do not know how to program it:) The game is very similar to games like Outwares, FallenSword and Torn City. I plan including images, a map accessible, one-party system where members can team up to fight against a powerful monster, quests mass Guilds, Guild Wars, player against player, pets, and have a bunch of items listed. What programming languages can help to fill this up? I intend to go to college for programming in the future, then I'd like to learn now. Details explanations would be most useful. Thank you very much.

Depends on your intended platform. The default answer when it comes to games, is learn C + + because it is used by the industry itself. Xoax I recommend to learn C + +, it uses video to show you how to program in C + +. http://xoax.net/ You can download Visual Studio Express Edition for free from Microsoft here: http://www.microsoft.com/express/gamedevelopment/ This page also displays some information on XNA games development studio, but uses C #. If you do not mind restricting your game the Windows platform, I suggest you know if C #. You can download Microsoft XNA Games Studio Express Edition XNA development can also be used to develop games for the Xbox 360 however, there are other alternatives, the simplest is probably to see Game Maker: http://www.yoyogames.com/make I know people who have used it, but I have not used personally. NOTE: I realize that I have not really tell you how to start coding this because it's entirely up to you, there is no set best practice different approaches work for different games.
